“I had a wonderful stay in your hotel, had an excellent dinner and I truly enjoyed your delicious pea soup”.
These words were spoken by His Excellency Mr Hamed Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, when he took leave of General Manager Jos Jumelet of the Crowne Plaza Den Haag – Promenade hotel. The hotel was the official home base for the Afghanistan delegation during the Afghanistan Conference which was held in the World Forum. The President was staying in the hotel’s 140m2 size Promenential Suite.
The Crowne Plaza Den Haag – Promenade was one of many hotels where delegations were staying. Since the opening of the hotel 38 years ago, the “Promenade Hotel” has a strong relationship with the Corps Diplomatique and the ministries in the city of The Hague. Many different delegations, ministers and heads of state, have already enjoyed the quality of service of the Crowne Plaza Den Haag - Promenade hotel.
“Welcoming international delegations is always a special experience but the fact that we hosted the Afghanistan delegations for the Afghanistan Conference, makes this one really special. The hotel’s unique combination of accessibility, it’s location near the World Forum and the level of quality & service, was the main reason for the delegation to choose for our hotel” , says General Manager Jos Jumelet.
Next to hosting several others delegations too, the hotel’s parking facilities were used as logistic point for transport and security from which others guests for the Conference were transported to the World Forum.
The hotel is looking back to a very well organized conference which has been an excellent promotion for the city of The Hague and for The Netherlands.
